Software Development

We are small team of dedicated volunteers who are committed to supporting individuals, workplaces and governments in inspiring healthier commuting behaviors. We appreciate any contribution that you can make.

All funding, fees, donations from this web site go directly towards enhancing the National software, reports and web technology.

Our current team of volunteers got involved in Commuter Challenge two years after it was originally launched in 1991 at a Calgary workplace. For 6 years our Commuter Challenge was run strictly by volunteers using paper tally sheets, spreadsheets and fax technology to collect commuter data. It was formalizing in 1998 under the umbrella of a registered not-for-profit and federal funding allowed organizers to pursue distributed data technology that allowed for the launch of the National Commuter Challenge in 1999.

Your support will allow us to keep our software and web site up-to-date and continue to enhance our reports and introduce other useful features. Your donations are especially appreciated but if you have advanced programming and design skills and have time to spare, we would also love to hear from you! info@commuterchallenge.ca

NOTE: Regional event coordinators require additional resources to host and deliver their regional programs.

Commuter Challenge aligned with Canadian Environment Week, World Earth Day (June 5) and Clean Air Day.
